Aston Villa wait on Emile Heskey scan

Heskey had been enjoying a run of goalscoring form
Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey will undergo a scan on Monday to assess the groin injury he suffered during the 1-0 win against Stoke on Saturday.

The 31-year-old, who was forced off in the first half, will hope the problem does not rule him out of upcoming games with Arsenal and Liverpool. Boss Martin O'Neill said: "Emile's groin is the problem although he was feeling a bit better after the game. "We are hoping for the best but I won't know until after the scan." Heskey has made a slow start to his Villa career after a series of niggling injuries following his £3.5m switch from Wigan during the January transfer window.

But he has shown his quality in recent games, scoring three goals in the previous six matches before Stoke. O'Neill will hope the England forward is fit for the two games in 48 hours that will have a big impact on whether Villa can sustain their push for a Champions League spot. They will take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on 27 December before playing host to Liverpool two days later.

Shown he's quality or not, I think the team perform better without Hesley and with big John Carew doing the business for us - here's hoping that he Heskey has a prolonged recovery.

A massive well done to the Mad Turk (Yucel Eminoglu) who made the final table at the DTD Monte Carlo event, a deal was reached when there were 4 runners remaining with Turk bagging a nice little £50k which was effectivly 2nd place money - Turk crashed out in 4th spot when he's pocket queens ran into Wadey's AK all in pre flop with Wadey picking up a full house, Wadey went on to win the comp picing up a nice £68k

Somebody who I do wish for a speedy recovery is Alistair Findlay (The Fox) from AWOP who at present is on the mend after spending the weekend on the high dependancy unit at the Blackpool Victoria Hospital - fingers crossed that he'll be home for christmas
