BLACK BELT POKER

No man that does not see visions will ever realize any high hope or undertake any high enterprise. -- Woodrow Wilson

Thanks to everyone who has wished me well with the Black Belt grading to take place very soon.

I am looking forward to it now and starting day is next Monday 27th April then on the Tuesday we have to be down in London for a meeting at the Loose Cannon Club for 1pm-7pm not far from Cannon Street Station, south of the river.

I will be travelling down the night before and staying over in Marble Arch at the Victory Services Club, although I wont be sneaking in any games at the Vic which is just up the road as I will be grinding it out on-line putting my 6 hours in on the 25c/50c tables.

A few of you have made comments that Neil will be picking his mates and that the eight places have already been selected for Vegas.

Within the congratulating email that was sent out to the selected 50 candidates was a link to a video of Neil starting of by saying well done on being selected and then going into a Q & A routine and these were some of the blunt questions that was put to him:

ARE YOU GOING TO PICK YOUR MATES?

WHAT ARE THE WORKSHOPS ABOUT?

HOW WILL YOU ACCESS COMMITMENT?

WHAT IS BLACK BELT POKER LOOKING FOR?

These questions were posed by Adam Goulding (Snoopy)

The actual video is some 18 minutes long although this clip only contains around 5mins40 seconds and is relative to the above questions.

I think with Neil explaining that some of his mates are going to have to try harder than some of the other candidates, everyone is going to be judged on the efforts hat they put into the grading sessions and also what they get from it.

I imagine that there will be a level of transparency and you will be able to see where you are on a weekly basis as to how near qualifying you actually are.

BlackBeltpoker requirements are quite clear “We want you to play a minimum of 4 tables per day, a minimum of 6 hours per day and attend a training day every week – if you cant do that then you probably aint going to be a brown belt” Neil Channing.

A vision is not a vision unless it says yes to some ideas and no to others, inspires people and is a reason to get out of bed in the morning and come to work. -- Gifford Pinchot

I for one will give it my best shot and see how far this journey can take me – good luck to everyone else taking part in the grading.

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT, THESE BLOGS REQUIRE ALOT OF TIME ON OUR BEHALF, IT TAKES JUST A MINUTE TO POST A COMMENT AND IT GIVES US BLOGGERS THE ENTHUSIASM TO CONTINUE PROVIDING YOU WITH OUR LITTLE ADVENTURES also TELL ME WHAT MUSIC YOU'D LIKE TO HEAR WHEN YOU DROP BY, THANK YOU..

wow that black belt poker site is one of the stupidest things ever.

if you can win at online poker then YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF.

if these chancers that are running the site were decent players they would be grinding the mid and high stakes themselves.

Thanks for your support Kev.
You have to believe that all eight slots are available otherwise you just wouldn't do it would you, 8 places, 50 runners, 6.25/1 -
5 places available = 10/1
2 places available = 25/1
I think 8 spots is about right for the amount of time and effort that youve got to put in.

Thanks Adam, you short arsed git

Thanks BMN. No sweeping of accounts as you have to fund this yourself, if you run bad rather than play bad then BlackBelt may do somthing to help you.

Thanks Geoff

Thanks Platonic, there's a lot of sponsorship cash up for grabs if you can grind it out, They are looking for time committment and effort as well as profit.

Thanks Jimmy, I think I got a couple of suits handy myself - just not certain if I can get in them now though ;-)

what you think about the other thing i said?

if those guys were so good they would be crushing the games themselves and not need this redic idea to make money.

Steve H. said...

I'm not so sure that they are using this as a way of making money as in the trial stages they are not making any money, Boylepoker may be making money but not Blackbeltpoker. Once their skin, Blackbeltpoker kicks off early in june then I could understand your arguement but untill then I can only see win-win for the graders unless of course you run like shit during the grading process.

A crank is a man with a new idea....Until it catches on,good luck Steve....

HEY... Platonic Heres a two step formula for you

Step 1)Don't sweat the small stuff.

Step 2)Remember it's only small stuff.

Thanks Kev,
Just hope that I can get the odd game in as well.
I reckon some 8am till 11am shifts - a game of golf then back to the grind from 8pm till 11pm - that seems the best scenerio.

3 hours grind,9 holes of golf, acupuncture, the sauna followed by 'full' massage and back for another 3 hour stint that sounds more like a health farm :)
