According to reports on AWOP and Blonde then Gala will not be doing the full blown tour this year.
I spoke to Mark O'Donnell earlier in the week who said he was hopeful of perhaps having 1 or 2 tournaments later in the year.
I think this is a massive disappointment not only to Mark but also all the regular staff members at Gala, the dealers, all the players up & down the country who played these events labelled as the "The Peoples Poker Tour" not just because of the sensible buy ins of £110, £220 plus the £550 main event, every event was sold out usually well in advance with alternate lists almost as big as the playing list.
Every players whim catered for within reason and nothing was ever to much trouble.
I have met and made so many friends through the Gala tours that I know and speak for many people that there will be a massive gaping hole now in the British poker tour circuit calendar.
The thing with the GBPT was that players could buy into all three events cheaper than a GUKPT main event seat, have a good prize at the end of the rainbow and knew that the rulings up and down the country would be consistent and correct, venue's would be friendly and clean, dealers and staff would be extremely pleasant and polite.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mark and the powers that be for all their support and sponsorship and everything they have done for me over the last 2 years.

I really do hope your absence is a short one.

Well the credit crunch keeps taking it's toll and the latest casualty as well as the Gala Tour seems to be the updating team at Blonde Poker. Snoops & Co have been told that there's no money in the kitty (pardon the pun to the norkage pics) to keep this side of Blonde operating. The card room pays for itself so that wont be going anywhere, It's common knowledge that Dave C, Rowena and Dennis are keen to sell with TK Tony Kendall willing to go with the flow in the interests of Blonde, however the price that various individuals have put on the shares does not tally with whats on offer from interested parties. There will now be limited updating from free volunteers so no doubt this will have a massive effect on their visitors/hits ratio.

DTD have agreed to pay for live updates for next weekends main event the £300 deepstack £50k guaranteed, this will be a one off but no doubt TK, Tighty and the powers that be will be looking to extend this deal with DTD.

Last night I played about a dozen MTT's on stars getting shafted from behind every game. I will have a couple of stabs at qualifying for the Warm up and the Sunday Million today. Tonight I am going down to Broadway for their £30 DC freezeout.

Victory for Aston Villa in O'Neill's 100th Premier League match in charge will take the West Midlands club equal on points with Manchester United at the summit for two hours at least.

Vibrant Villa are eager to wrap up a fifth successive league victory when they face Bruce's Wigan, who held Liverpool to a 1-1 draw on Wednesday, but cannot move from their placing of seventh.

These clubs have met seven times in the Premier League, and the club playing at home has only won once.

No accumulater as my picks are normally shite as they were yesterday apart from the champions division.

Hi Mick, the final at Bridgnorth is tomorrow night (Monday) at 8pm.

There is no problem with you taking part but you wont be able to use it as your seat that you've already booked as the seat that your playing for at the final table has been allocated through Partypoker - your more than welcome to take part and if you win the seat you can either sell it on the night or put somebody else in, either way Spivver would need the name of the person who would be using the seat by the end of the night, Hope that all make sense.
